Write the pages AI quotes when buyers ask.

Proofsource is an AI intelligence platform that shows whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews name your brand, who they name instead, and what to fix. For writers and SEO leads, that means the questions you lose, the pages the engines quote instead, and a draft for the page that closes each gap.

Search taught you to rank. This is how you get quoted.

An answer engine reads a handful of pages and names two or three brands. Your job moves from winning a position to being on, or being, the page it reads.

Find the questions you lose

Every tracked question shows which engines named you and which named a competitor, with the full answer text. The free trial runs 25 buyer questions on each engine, so your first brief comes from real answers, not keyword guesses.

Read the pages the engines quote

Citations lists every page each engine used, what kind of page it is, whether it names you, and what it says. Most of what gets quoted is not on your domain, so the first move is often a pitch or a listing, not a new post.

Make your own pages readable to AI crawlers

The site check compares what a person sees with what an AI crawler gets: blocked bots, pages that only render with JavaScript, and thin or missing body text. A page a crawler cannot read cannot be quoted, however good it is.

Draft the page that closes the gap

Each gap comes with a draft grounded in your own pages and shaped by what the winning sources say. You edit it and publish it. Nothing goes live in your name without you.

Check the page got quoted

Once a page ships, the questions it targeted are checked again at day 7, 14 and 28, so you can see whether the engines started naming you and citing it.

Most of what AI quotes is not on your site.

When we measured our own category, comparison pages made up 43.5% of everything the engines cited for unbranded questions. Your content plan has to include the pages you do not own.

  • Every cited page, by engine and by question
  • Page type: listicle, review site, forum, video, vendor

A page can look perfect and read as empty.

A page that renders in the browser can hand a crawler a blank document, and an edge firewall can turn a training bot away before it reads a word. Neither shows up when you look at the page in a browser, so Proofsource checks for both.

  • Words a person sees against words a crawler sees
  • Which AI crawlers your site lets in, and which it blocks
  • Pages with no readable heading or body text

Start from the gap, not a blank page.

A draft is only useful if it answers the question the engine was asked. Ours start from the lost question, the answer that left you out and the sources that won, then use your own pages for the facts.

  • One draft per gap, tied to the question it targets
  • Facts taken from your site, not invented
  • You edit and publish; nothing ships on its own

Gap: “does it track billable hours by client?” 0 of 4 engines name you

Perplexity

Named instead: two competitors, both citing a help-center article that answers the question in its first sentence.

Draft section for /features/timesheets

Yes. Every timer is tagged to a client and a project, and the billable-hours report totals them by client for any date range, ready to export to your invoicing tool.

Questions content and SEO teams ask

Is this different from SEO?

It builds on it. Search engines rank links; answer engines read a few pages and name a few brands. Many of the same pages matter, but the unit of success is being named and cited in the answer, so that is what Proofsource measures.

Do I need an llms.txt file?

It does no harm and costs little, but none of the engines we track documents it as a ranking signal. Readable pages, crawler access and being on the pages the engines already cite matter far more.

Does Proofsource write and publish content for me?

It drafts content from each gap, using your own pages for the facts, and you edit and publish it. Nothing is published in your name without you.

Which AI engines do you check?

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews on the trial. We track 10 AI engines. At checkout a plan picks from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overview and Claude, and pays for each question on each engine it picks; at least one is always on. Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI are enabled on a call (Book a demo) or on Managed.

What does the free trial include?

2 days of full AI visibility, today and tomorrow. Each scan asks 25 buyer questions on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews, with no card and no sales call. After the second scan, scanning pauses and every answer stays in your workspace.

What does it cost after the trial?

One price card for everyone: each brand pays a fee for daily ($28 a brand a month) or weekly ($7), plus each question on each engine you pick, from $9 a month (5 questions on ChatGPT, weekly). Unlimited team members on every plan.
